Answers
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers on scheduling, licensing, pricing, financing and what we actually cover. If yours is not here, ask us directly.
How fast can you get here?
For a burst pipe, a major leak or sewage backing up, do not wait for a scheduled slot. Call us and we will get a technician moving. Our line answers during business hours at (813) 576-8639, and after 5:00 PM and on weekends it routes to our after-hours number so an emergency never lands in a voicemail box.
Before we arrive, shut off the water. For a single fixture that is the stop valve behind or beneath it. For anything bigger it is the main shutoff, usually near the street side of the house or by the water meter. Finding that valve now, while nothing is wrong, is five minutes well spent.
Are you licensed and insured?
This matters more than it sounds. If an unlicensed plumber floods your house, the damage is your problem and your homeowners policy may decline the claim because the work was not performed by a licensed contractor. Unpermitted work can also surface later during a sale or an insurance inspection. You are welcome to verify our license number with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation before we start.
Do you offer financing?
The terms: projects up to $25,000, repayment terms from 3 to 60 months, and APRs ranging from 0% to 35.9%. There are no hidden fees and no compounding interest — what you are quoted is what you pay. As an example, a $1,200 job could run about $104.89 a month over 12 months.
The application takes roughly a minute, and checking your options does not affect your credit score — it is a soft inquiry, so you can see what you qualify for before committing to anything. All financing is subject to credit approval and your actual terms may vary. You can prequalify on our financing page and then talk to us about the job itself.
How does your pricing work?
We quote the repair rather than the clock, so a job that turns out to be harder than expected is our problem, not a bigger invoice for you. If there are two legitimate ways to solve something — a repair now versus a replacement that lasts longer — we will lay out both with prices so you can decide, rather than deciding for you.
Two things can reduce what you pay. Homeowner MVP members receive 10% off any plumbing service for the entire year, and Wisetack financing is available on qualifying work if you would rather pay over time.
What areas do you serve?
In Hillsborough that includes Tampa, South Tampa, North Tampa, New Tampa, Ybor City, Carrollwood, Citrus Park, Westchase, Temple Terrace, Brandon, Valrico and Lutz. In Pasco we serve Odessa, Land O’ Lakes, Wesley Chapel and Zephyrhills. In Pinellas we cover Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Seminole.
Each of those has its own page with details on what we most often handle there. If you are just outside the list, call anyway — we can usually tell you in one conversation whether we can get to you or whether you would be better served by someone closer.
What does a sewer camera inspection show?
Typically that reveals one of a few things: tree root intrusion pushing through joints, grease and scale buildup narrowing the pipe, a belly where the line has sagged and holds standing water, a crack or offset joint, or a fully collapsed section. It also confirms the pipe material — cast iron, clay, Orangeburg or PVC — which largely determines whether a line can be cleaned and kept or needs replacing.
The practical value is that it prevents digging in the wrong place. A camera locates the problem to within a few feet, so instead of excavating a trench across your yard hoping to find the fault, we open one spot. If you are buying a home with mature trees or a pre-1975 build, an inspection before closing is cheap insurance against inheriting a five-figure sewer repair.
Do you offer a maintenance plan?
It includes a yearly preventative inspection and maintenance service, 10% off any plumbing service for the full year, Saturday appointment availability from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM so you do not have to take a weekday off, and a one-year warranty on all labor we perform.
The Saturday access alone is often the reason people join — ordinary Saturday service is by appointment only, and MVP members get first call on those slots. We also run a Commercial MVP plan for businesses that cannot afford unplanned downtime.
What should I do before the plumber arrives?
If a water heater is leaking, shut off its water supply and cut the power to it: flip the breaker for an electric unit, or turn the gas control to off for a gas one. Never leave an electric water heater energized once the tank has drained.
For a sewage backup, stop running water anywhere in the house — that includes dishwashers and washing machines on a cycle, which will keep pumping into a line that has nowhere to drain. Then clear a path to the cleanout and the affected fixtures so we can get straight to work.
