Describe the symptom
Slow, blocked, leaking, no hot water, gurgling. What it does and when it started narrows the likely cause considerably before we arrive.
Say how many fixtures
One slow drain is a local problem. Several at once usually means the main line, which is a different job and a different truck setup.
Know your shutoff
For anything actively leaking, finding your main shutoff before we arrive is the single most useful thing you can do.
Have your notice handy
For backflow testing, the notice from your water provider lists the device and the deadline, which makes scheduling straightforward.
